Concrete Block Calculator
Number of concrete masonry units (CMU) for a wall, by courses, with openings and waste.
Plan a project with material estimates you can check. These calculators turn measurements into quantities (cubic yards of concrete, tons of gravel, boxes of tile, studs, deck boards, blocks and rebar) and, when you enter your local prices, an estimated material cost.
Every tool shows its formula and lets you change the assumptions, such as waste allowance, material density or bag yield, so the result matches the supplier and product you are actually buying.
Slabs, footings and block walls.
Number of concrete masonry units (CMU) for a wall, by courses, with openings and waste.
Concrete volume and bag count for pad footings, round piers and continuous strip footings.
Estimate the concrete volume and total cost of a slab, including waste, delivery and labor.
Volume and tonnage for loose materials.
Convert the area and depth of a driveway, path or base into cubic yards and tons of gravel.
How many bags, cubic yards or tons of pea gravel you need for a path, patio or bed.
Tons, cubic yards and bags of river rock for landscaping beds, with depth based on rock size.
Tons of crushed stone, base, screenings or decomposed granite, with material-specific compaction.
Studs, rafters, board and batten, and decking.
Number of battens, even spacing, boards to buy and backing panels for a board and batten wall.
Decking boards, linear footage and screws for a rectangular deck surface.
Rafter length, rise, roof angle and cut angles from span or run and pitch, with overhang.
How many wall studs and plates you need for a framed wall, including openings and corners.
Square footage, cubic yards, tile and rebar layouts.
Convert length, width and depth in any units to cubic yards, cubic feet and cubic meters.
Bars, linear footage and weight of rebar for a slab grid at a given spacing.
Total the square footage of rectangles, triangles and circles, with cut-outs and metric conversion.
Work out how many tiles and boxes you need for a floor or wall, including grout joints and waste.
Most estimating mistakes come from mixing units: a slab measured in feet with a thickness in inches, or a supplier that quotes per cubic yard while your plans are in metres. Each calculator lets you pick the unit for every dimension and converts internally using exact factors (1 inch = 2.54 cm, 1 cubic yard = 27 cubic feet).
Real projects lose material to cuts, breakage, uneven subgrade and spillage. Typical allowances range from about 5% for simple rectangular work to 10-15% or more for diagonal tile layouts or irregular excavations. The calculators apply the allowance you choose and show the quantity both before and after it, so you can see the effect.
These tools estimate quantities. They do not size footings, rafters, rebar or deck framing for loads, and they do not replace local building codes, manufacturer instructions or a licensed engineer. Where structure is involved, the calculator page says so explicitly.
